Blind hams often ask about the availability of a speaking/voicing multimeter and over the years there have been a number offered but they are not always easy to get hold of.
However there is a Chinese pen multimeter called the A3009 which is both available and pretty inexpensive.
It certainly isn't a professional device but more than good enough for measuring things around the shack. It is a pen multimeter so you hold it in your hand rather like a fat pen, it is 17cm long and
square with 2cm sides.
It covers DC Voltage, AC Voltage, Resistance, Capacitance and Diode testing and is auto ranging.
Yes the voice does have a strong Chinese accent but I find it perfectly understandable and it voices all of the measurements.
It can measure DC voltage up to 700 volts, AC voltage up to 1000 volts, Resistance up to 600 Mohm and Capacitance up to 60 Microfarads.
Below you will find links to my mp3 demo of the A3009 multimeter and also to download an xhtml version of the manual where I have replaced the photo with a walk around of the device.
